Imogen Zezinger did not get swept up in a tornado. She did not fly out of a window or climb through a wardrobe... or fall down a rabbit hole.

She simply took a wrong turn.

When a confusing drive through the Italian countryside leads Zez into a land called Tol Tava, she knows that her adventure has begun. The world she has stumbled across is filled with the beauty of an everlasting night, hills that stretch towards the heavens, prisons buried beneath the earth, and an overgrown manor of serpents. She is taken into the home of the Viper, a beautiful woman who proclaims that Zez is the answer to a bitter blood feud.

So, Zez shrugs and accepts this strange new destiny.

In a bright yellow Fiat, with an alluring queen of snakes, Imogen Zezinger takes off through the hills of Tol Tava. A fantastic journey stretches before her and she may play hero, learn that things are never what they seem, and embark on the adventure of a lifetime.

(This story is loosely based on Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.)

Sweden. First century CE. The crowned heir of the Cyeollarian throne--Athanasia--has her life laid out for her--get married to a princess, forge an alliance with the kingdom of Abiria, and become king when it's time. The king, Heimir, thinks it's a fool proof plan--except for the fact it's not. Firstly, Athanasia wants nothing to do with the title of king--she'd rather be the queen. Secondly, Heimir is living on borrowed time. He waits idly by for his life to be claimed by the mysterious Ilrok Drokonik. And funny enough, Ilrok seems to be Athanasia's real father--he will go to every length he can to see his child brought to him. Athanasia doesn't know what Ilrok's intentions are, so she has no other choice to run. Now, all Athanasia has is an ominous wyvern pendant that she inherited from her mother, a sword that seems to ignite in flames everytime it's drawn, and a band of outlaws who insist that they follow her. Plus, she's a Devilborn; all she knows is that whatever the hell that is, it's nothing good. When it feels like all hope is lost, Athanasia meets a young wraith who's on the run and the bewitching siren queen who's been exiled from Olympus; and for the first time in a long time, Athanasia feels hopeful--hopeful she can stop Ilrok once and for all. Commander Miles Quaritch was on a mission to escort some new scientists down to the research facility built on Pandora. Whilst doing so, his ego got the best of him and he got the idea to 'show off his power'. Walking up to the pilot, Commander Quaritch ordered a fire on an area covered by trees. Little did he know, he fired on a small medical lab that was run by a team of humans selected specifically by his higher ups. Once he landed and finished his escort mission, he was ordered to return to base and was put on suspension. Back on Pandora, a human child was the only thing left in the rubble of the destroyed medical lab. Unknown to Commander Quaritch, he had orphaned a two year old little girl, and left her in the ruins surrounded by more than 10 dead bodies. The mother of the child was killed, along with every human she has ever known. Once the child woke up and began to cry, she was so young she couldn't do anything. She knew she was hurt and scared, the bright light from the sun and all the ash falling onto her white skin further frightening her. The two year old was all alone. The forest line next to the medical lab began to make noise as a Thanator began to answer to the baby's cries. The feline-esque creature listened to her maternal instincts and followed the sound of despair. The animal climbed down from the trees and poked her heads out of the leaves, her many eyes finding the source and locking onto the injured infant. This is where the child's story begins... TW: mentions of drunkards and beer, mention of physical abuses, a description of trypophobia, claustrophobia, and other phobias, and descriptions of nasty cryptids. There is no depictions or allusions of sex, no f-bombs, or drug abuse. This story was started when I was in seventh grade. I finished the original when I was a senior in high school. Displeased with the finished product, I began to rewrite it here, starting June 2015, then again in 2020. I am quite satisfied with the result, and am sure this will be the final edition. This isn't the first book of the series, but there's no spoilers for 'The World is Larger than it Seems', so you can start on this one. The story is far from finished, however, and I hope to eventually finish the series.
