Isotopes were once considered the most sought after division. After the nuclear war, that all changed. Losing their seat of power, they became the most feared division. By law, all Isotopes are sentenced to death at birth. Triplets Issabelle, Mirabelle, and Annabelle were able to survive for seventeen years, unseen. The moment one of them has a lapse of judgement and leaves the house, she brings home trouble.
This is a short story I came up with for a Chemistry project when I was in 11th grade. This world and its characters are based off and centered around the periodic table of elements.

They learnt from a young age no one that means NO ONE can know about their powers even their parents and other siblings. It brings out the true friends and those who just want to use you. In the end, what do you do when your closest friend betrays you? This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else. The family's mother seemingly ran away 8 months before the triplets were born. Though their family missed her after searching for a year they gave up and realized that she did not want to be found never knowing about the triplets. She had the triplets and gave them away to a kind man and his wife at 6 their father died and their adoptive mother started to bring her boyfriends around. These boyfriends helped their mother become a drug addict and they started the abuse to the young kids. The kids moved around a lot growing up living wherever their mother's boyfriend was living and later with their step-father where the abuse got worse when they were 10 years old. Throughout their lives, the three were abused and tortured in every way. When the triplets are 15 their mother and step-father are killed leaving the triplets alone and after a DNA test by social services, they get sent to their father and brothers meeting them for the first time.
