Born Under an Ill-Omened Star

In a land where a person's good (or bad) fortunes rely on the stars they are born under, ex-warrior Adair Karrow has defied the misfortunate hand she was dealt at birth and has made it to her wedding to the handsome, young General Xander.

Unbeknownst to her, a shocking revelation on her special day will make her question everything she thought she knew about the man she loves.

In a tale of adventure, sacrifice and romance, Adair must decide between what she wants and what is right.

***This short forms part of a larger tale called Born Under an Ill-Omened Star. The following events take place prior to the events in this short:
- Adair defended the King in what is known as the Omen Wars (a fight over prosperous lands with stars more likely to instil good omens on new babes).
-Upon return from the war, Adair moved to her childhood home where she now resides with housekeeper Yvaine.
- The character 'Thaydon' who makes an appearance was a comrade of Laird during the war, to whom she owes her life.
