"The scariest thing about distance is that you don't know whether they'll miss you or forget you." -Nicholas Sparks

Janessa and Drew have been best friends since they were five. They thought not even the gods above can come between them. Every moment they spent together was cherished. Their spark was extraordinary, their love was irresistible, and their bond was inseparable. As cliché as it sounds, I guess you could say they were each other's other half.

Before Janessa is forced to move to California for her mother's new job, when she was 10, her and Drew made a promise that one day, when they're older, they'll be together again just like before.

But in one instant, a blink of an eye, a tragic accident, and half a nanosecond, things changed for the worst.

So when Janessa moves back to the "Heart of Hawaii" seven years later, she's in for a ride of her life. Involving love, loss, drama, heartbreak, and froyo.

Yes, froyo.

Will things ever be the same between her and Drew? Do they both keep their promise? Well that's something you should find out for yourself. Discover how both Janessa and Drew's lives have changed since they've last seen each other and how the hardships of love and life can change you entirely.

The story is told by the points of view of the two main characters. Read on to see life in different aspects through the two friends. This is my first story, so feedback is gladly accepted, and obviously needed!! ~faruhway ------ "I love you." The words come out so unnaturally it's as if I have never learned them before. "Again" Janell says, as she looks deep into my eyes. "I... Love...You." This time I tried annunciating the first letter of each word with as much emphasis as I could muster up. "Again!" I'm getting sick of hearing that. "I LOVE YOU!!" Janell looks at me with utter disgust "Why the heck did you scream it? Nobody wants to be shouted at Milo. Now take it from the top." I take a deep breath, getting ready to say for possibly the millionth time. "Thalia, we have been inseparable since middle school. It may seem a little strange to you, but I have had these feelings for a while now. I... I know the timing might be a little off, but I want you to know that.... I love you." "How is it that we've been practicing for two hours and you are just getting worse?" I roll my eyes as a short response. --- Completed November 2018

The Choices I've Made (By the Bay #1)

20 parts Complete Mature

Twelve years ago, he drove away with my heart in his hands. I've moved on since then. Or so I thought. Growing up in a small town, there weren't too many options when it came to friends. But, even in a sea of a million, I'd always choose Jake Jameson. I felt safe with him. Safe with my secrets, my dreams and eventually - my heart. I thought we'd have forever together. That was a long time ago. I thought I'd forgotten those piercing blue eyes and the sound of his laugh. I tried to obliterate the memory of his touch from my mind. But, one single glance, as he stands at my door, twelve years later, and I'm suddenly transported back to a simpler time when love was easy, and my heart was whole. The problem? I'm marrying his best friend.
