The word gay has been synonymous of liberation, fight, human rights, homosexuality, lesbianism, etc but it has become synonymous of excess, abuse of freedom, hatred, self-loathing as well among men and women who feel the emotional and physical desire to be with somebody of their own sex.

I do not wish to diminish in any way the important role of the gay liberation movement, the point I'm making is a reflection on how this generous and initially noble action has been tinted by fanatism and dogmatism. One that nobody seems to want to talk about because accusations of homophobia or hatred may be used against.

We may not hit each other but the power of words has been used constantly against each other diminishing, offending and alienating us. Words can hit stronger than a fist and we have become very good at it.

These series of essays do not intend to own the true but certainly aim to offer another way of seeing things among us with the respect, tolerance, and love that we deserve and can give as humans.

This a story of two souls meeting in the most expected times of their lives. They fit together so perfectly and their connection was different from all the other relationships they had been in. However, one of them is in a relationship she cannot seem to get out of. Will they stay together or will they go separate ways? Read as their story unfolds as easy as ABC. ***** The first time I saw you in school, the gay girl inside of me was not screaming, not that you were horrible, unattractive or unappealing (you were the opposite) but I was too focused on something else. The first time I took notice of you was when I first heard your voice. It was June, the first day of a communication class. We were given the task to introduce ourselves in front of the class for one minute. Of course, I went first and I was trying to be the one oozing with confidence. Everyone introduced themselves and in my memory they were all in a blur. Until, you spoke, you blew me away not because of your introduction but because of your voice. You sounded so manly which was a little too far from what you look like. The first time I talked to you was at the library and a glass wall was hindering us from hearing each other clearly. It was crazy that I really talked to you afterwards. It was weird too. 🙈😂 The first time we actually had a good conversation was the night before your birthday. It was special because we truly did connect. That was the moment where it all started. Will you let go when everything feels so wrong already?

Love can feel empowering. Love can be deadly. It can be the greatest thing to ever happen. It can be the biggest mistake that can't be reversed. It can feel like a dream come true. It can feel like a nightmare that you can't wake up from. Love changes people in many ways, from mild to severe, whether it's beneficial or detrimental in anybody's life, no matter if you're lesbian, gay, straight, bisexual, pansexual, or a person who just loves people without a label. How does love change you? ******* It's like your basic high school love story, except it's with adults in their early-mid 20s, and they're either still in college or have graduated from college and have jobs. It's a modern slice of life narrative novel about lesbians trying to find true love or wanting to get back into the love game. Five of these lovely characters share their own little tales of how love changes them first go, or their first time in forever! Their perspectives on love as it takes effect either get sensual, dramatic, or to the extent of a slow burn, as they also deal with life's obstacles along the way and share a part in each other's stories. There are ups and downs as their own stories go along, and it all gets more suspenseful towards the end where problems unfortunately arise. Will things get better or worse from here for these lovestruck lesbians as the story goes on? [Content/Trigger Warnings- the main warnings are scenes of sexual activity, and suicidal talk/attempt, along with mentions of said attempt. Everything else is listed inside the book! Letting Love In

You are programmed one way. Programmed to think one way and act one way and love one way, the normal way -- the way preferred by society, the way that everyone around you does. But what if that way changes? What if something or someone changes it? What if they introduce you to change? Is change bad? Is being different a bad thing? What if the difference makes you happy? Isn't happiness what we should be striving for, and nor normalcy? So picture this, you are normal. You are the definition of normal. Your friends are seemingly normal and you think your life is fine, because its normal. Then someone interrupts that flow of normalcy by being different. They aren't society's vision of normal - they are different. And the thing is, they have no normal, they believe there should be no such word as normal, which just happens to be the word your entire life is based on. What then? Accept the different and deny yourself the adventure of it all? Would that be the normal thing to do?
