There was nothing left but Naruto Uzumaki and the sky after the end of the decade-long Fourth Shinobi War. So he went back. It wasn't such a big deal except for the fact that everyone he saw dead and dying were now alive, not to mention the fact that he can't seem to move on with his plans.
