Kimberly Torrance is a beautiful and kind painter from Europe. Her life is going nowhere until her widowed neighbor's son, Alex Malkovich, a handsome, seemingly perfect man with a passion for music, comes to stay with his mom from Ireland.

Kimberly likes Alex until she realizes how short-tempered, oblivious, and arrogant he can be. However, when a creep tries to mug Kimberly outside her small home, Alex springs to the rescue. Kimberly begins to notices that Alex is actually rather protective and sensitive at heart.

But, still with his oblivious ways, Alex dismisses Kimberly's affectionate feelings towards him which causes her to spiral into a short term depression streak.

Finally, when Alex's Irish girlfriend, Ruth Bishop, comes to Europe to stay with him and his mom, she threatens to come between them, and Alex has to make a difficult choice. But will Kimberly ever find the splendid love that she deserves?
