As the Marines battled desperately upon the world of Malvolian against Tyranid swarms of Hive Fleet Kraken. A warp rift opens, pushing against the shadow produced by the Tyranid fleet. A brother, wounded and in the verge of dying, is pulled into it into the galaxy of Mass Effect. Will the battle-brother, miraculously healed during his journey through the warp be able to aid Humanity in stopping the Reapers? Or will the grief of his gene-father's death consume him and the terrible fortune of the Lamenters spread to others?
