When a school shooting happens at Waterford High School Bluebell and Sage meet each other, they both hide in the storage room. Bluebell, Jayden, and Louna are already in the storage room when Sage knocks at the door in a panic. Jayden and Louna don't want to let him because it could be the shooter, but Bluebell does let him in any way. After the shooting Bluebell and Sage keep running into each other. After a while, they become friends and start their journey.
