(Set in an AU right before the start of season 3.) The Cluster still poses a threat to earth. Steven and the crystal gems are finally ready to take it head-on before it destroys the planet. Fate, on the other hand, has different plans. On the day, they finally complete the drill,  they are attacked by a strange girl with powers that rival that of the diamonds themselves and 
 fail to stop her as she leaves Beach City in ruins. After this, the gems discover a dark secret that Rose kept from all of them, and an organization bent on eradicating all of gem kind. Steven used to think that he was unique, but he will soon learn that he is far from alone in the universe.

He will go up against other Gems from outer space, crime lords, and demons, but he will not face them alone. The odds are against them, it won't be easy, but they're not going to do this alone. Why? Because they are the Crystal Gems, they always save the day, and if you think they can't, they always find the way!

His anger now only grows, seeing that his mother, who he once looked up too, was nothing more than a coward, a murderer, and a liar. What pushes him over the edge is when Pearl and the other Crystal Gems still want him to be like her. Pearl doesn't realize, though, that she will set off a chain of events that nobody could've predicted, starting with her 'baby' going back to when it all began.
