Ollie wants everything to be the same way it used to be. His father's cancer has everything in his life thrown off. Everything is different now, and he wants it to go back to normal. Student council presidency has treated him well so far, but it feels like everything is falling apart.
Dylan wants to be invisible. He's learned that he's better off that way. It's better than being made fun of constantly for his gender fluidity, it's better than actually having friends and then losing them. When his mom threatens to ruin everything, he has to choose between moving to Rhode Island with his dad or staying in North Carolina.
