long ago, when the kingdom of illéa was first created, the original king, king isaac, traded his soul in exchange for all of the riches in the kingdom. he wanted illéa to live in prosperity, where everyone lived a rich and successful life. however, he thought he could cheat death by attempting to murder the witch who granted him his wealth. thus, the witch serafina cursed him and the entire country. each individual of the royal family, has until the age of 21 to fall in love, if they cannot oblige, they will be turned into gold. serafina wanted to torture king isaac, as he had to watch the people of the kingdom become placed in castes. where only a handful, had the necessities to survive.

in order to break the curse, the royal family has held selections for each of the royal family. prince theodore and prince jackson will serve in this selection, their younger sister princess clara, will have hers when the time is right.

however, those who are selected are at risk. those who are eliminated are slaughtered in the hands of the royal family. one of the most important elements in order to break the curse. sacrifice.
