It wasn't any place for them, really. All it was was just two people who ended up in two very bad situations. Neither of them had any idea how hard it would get in time.

She was starting her's; he was ending his. It was all very serendipitous, actually, the way it played out. Neither of their lives would be the same ever again.

And it all started in the state penitentiary.

Mercy never wanted to end up this way, locked inside prison like this. All she wanted was to protect her younger sister. That was it. But doing so ended up landing her a cell in the Southern California State Penitentiary.

Max's story is twisted, but isn't as it seems. When he begins to feel a strange pull towards this new young girl, it frightens him, for reasons unknown. It doesn't help that they're now living in a world much different than the one outside the barbed fences.

One things for sure in a place like this... When you arrive, your wings are broken. But even broken wings can eventually fly again.
