Walking the line between grimdark and epic fantasy, this story follows a mercenary named Durmhain, who is pledged to the honor god Akreus. The land has been ravaged by a generations-long war between Elmiar and Nithia, a conflict which has extended out into the world and threatens to engulf the world in carnage. Caught during a covert operation intended to prevent the further possibility of war, Durmhain is thrown in jail and tortured into revealing the location of his benefactors, the Elmiari. Bound by honor, he must escape and warn the Elmiari that war is imminent. But to do so, he must ally himself with that which the Nithians draw their power from, and must sacrifice more than his life to see a broken oath fulfilled.

She is called the Mother Dragon-not for fire or scales, but for her power, her ruthlessness, and the fear she commands. As the leader of the realm, she rules with cunning, charm, and corruption, bending houses and loyalists alike to her will. In the halls of power, alliances are fragile, betrayals are plentiful, and loyalty is bought with whispers and threats. Every move she makes is calculated, every word a weapon, and every secret exploited to keep her throne unchallenged. Yet even she cannot predict every betrayal, nor control the ambitions of those who covet her crown. In a world of political games and household rivalries, she is both queen and monster-loved by some, feared by all, and despised by those who dare stand in her way. Power is not given. Power is taken. And she will take it all.
