The story of a boy begins where it ends, in death. It was not quick, it was not painless, but it was ultimately death. He does not recall how it happened, so neither will you.

He stands alone in an abyss, the Abyss. A whole world like black satin, rolling and reflecting an unseen light.

He turns around, perhaps to find something, perhaps to marvel at his surroundings, or perhaps to see if the world was... different behind him. He would not be disappointed in any of those aspects, for he found her.

And so it begins.
