Life for Belladonna Allred is now simple and she wants it this way. She has left her horrific past behind and settled down in New York with little of money but still managed to survive. Her past is not something she talks about. It has broken her and her pieces are scattered around, never to be found and fixed again. She gets up, goes to work, and goes back home. No inbetweens. Unless her 'friends' literally drag her out of her apartment for a night out.

Gwaine Percival is a hot headed man, focusing only on money and women. Or that is how he likes to be seen. Deep down he struggles with things he has done and not another single soul knows about . And he would like to keep it that way. His messes, his problems to solve. Although that's not possible. But Gwaine is most definitely not a man who would willingly agree he needs help. Emotionally. His pieces are scattered too.
What if when their paths cross they find the pieces not meant for them but for the other. Maybe that's all they need. Someone to love, trust, and understand. Someone who will not judge but just accept. Someone to rely on. Just that one person they need to put the puzzle back again.

I didn't come here to make friends. But still- it hit harder than I thought when he said it. "We're not friends." Just like that. Like I was the problem for thinking the silence between us meant anything more than... silence. He barely looked at me when he said it. Didn't flinch. Didn't soften.
