It had only been a few months since Spinel gave up her physical form to have Mickie. Now Steven was sitting in his bedroom at three in the morning, trying desperately to calm down the crying baby that he wasn't prepared for. He was a mess, and he was exhausted.
It had been an accident. The gem and the hybrid had gotten carried away and before they knew it, they couldn't go back. Steven made sure to promise Spinel that no matter what, he'd take care of their baby. He hadn't told the gems, he hadn't told the diamonds, he hadn't told Connie, and he hadn't even told his own father. What would they do? They'd disown him! Throw him out! Never speak to him again..! Steven had to keep this a secret..
But he couldn't for very long.

This takes place after the spinel incident and steven meets a whole new family moving to beach City! Steven looks different compared to when he was kid, but after white diamond removed his gem he began to notice that something wasn't quite right so he went to the mirror and look at whats different and to his surprise, his hair was turning pink but thats not all he noticed, his Gem...it began to rotate to that of a diamond so he did the only thing he could think of, he went to the diamonds about this, so say they were shocked was an understatement, so white diamond began to explain that maybe when she removed his gem, the gem itself began to make changes because your human half can't take the diamond powers that are showing so it maybe changing you to be a half-Diamond, steven understood that his gem was only doing what it thought was protecting him. So he just let it happen even though it was hurting when his gem was rotating but white diamond said that it might take awhile for it to rotate. So he was just walking around in pain but doesn't let it affect him and he didn't tell the gems of the new changes yet.
