"My dad was lying unconscious on the bed, amidst the mess of various things, and my mom and brother were not in the room. Instead... they were inside the huge mirror that was hanging in front of the bed, with ...with ...my sister, Sami. Their eyes bored into mine and the devilish grins on their faces reflected their intentions.
And they weren't looking happy."
When my dad told my family about our surprise vacation in the country, I wasn't very happy. I hated surprises; they were never good. But the one person who wasn't pleased with this, decided to stay back, alone. I wasn't okay with her being alone either.
And I was right. I should've known it was her. I know I should've done something about it. But I didn't.
And that one mistake almost resulted in my demise.

Liam left everything that he knew behind, his house, the neighborhood he lived in, and the city that he knew. Why? Because he needed a change. He needed a fresh start; he couldn't handle the gossips anymore, the neighbors whispering behind his back, the failed relationship that ended with a heartache for him and not his ex. He needed to be in a new area where no one knew what happened; no one knew the suffering he went through. So what does Liam do? He packs his things, sells his house, old furniture, and buys a new home in an area he's never even been in or heard of. Everything should go perfectly, right? This fresh start. Not quite, Liam has an unwanted guest in his new house, and this guest doesn't want to leave; she seems to be telling him that it's her house and not his. She's mistaken; this house was Liams. After all, he's purchased it for an excellent price and has moved all his new things in there. She's the one that needs to go, not him. So why is it that Liam is unable to kick her out of his home? Why is it that she won't leave?! or is it that she can't go. Strange things start to occur in Liam's new home, something that shouldn't be happening, spooky things, things that would happen in horror movies, and Liam doesn't know what to do. He starts to panic; he's the only one panicking; the unwanted guest, on the other hand, just stares at him with a smile as she throws her head back, letting out a chilling laugh. In this story, three brothers (Felix, Sully and Milo) together with their two sisters (Maya and Ava), find themselves in a living nightmare with a group of friends, acquaintances, strangers and even pets, trapped in the garden of their house, forced to face terrifying, bloodthirsty creatures to survive the night that soon becomes far more terrifying than it should be. BACKSTORY: The idea for this story came to my sisters. They convinced me to write it so they could read it before going to sleep. I spent a couple of months thinking about a plot, characters (some based on real people and some fictional) and a sequel coming soon. In Haltonshaw Grove, we tell these real life horror stories to our kids like bedtime tales. They help us learn from a young age to stay out of the forest after dark. But one halloween, we didn't listen- Me and four boys. We broke the rules and we paid the price. We barely made it out alive and now we live with the trauma, the nightmares, the memories. Seven years later, the events of that night, like most things tend to do around here, have come back to haunt us. We never talked about the night we ran in the forest, never spoke afterwards at all really, but now we're going to need each other if we're going to survive what's coming. Me and those boys I've loved all along. - - ‐ - - - - - - - - - - - - - Our town is haunted. The five of us are cursed. And Halloween is just around the corner...
