From wanting to have her very Asian last name pronounced correctly at a Starbucks stand, to watching The Lion King on Broadway; Sri Lankan writer Alisha Veeno had dreams just like every other college kid trying to make it big and out of their little island home.

But things don't always work according to plan and life - well, life gets in the way.

At 25, the newly divorced single mother finds herself going through life's mundane motions simply trying to make sure she can provide for her little girl but by doing so sadly begins to slowly forget who she is in the process - a young woman filled with dreams.

That is until she finds a letter addressed to herself from the past....

Now, fresh off the landing strip in New York, with her very adorable three year old straddling her hip, Alisha is ready for a change. She's ready to finally give herself a second chance to experience a new life and maybe, a new love.
