King Arthur finds out about Merlin's magic and, torn between friendship and his father's law, banishes him from Camelot. Merlin decides to head home to his mother and Ealdor but finds a young run away girl on his journey there. Taking her under his wing, he becomes a father figure to her as Gaius was to him and a strong bond soon grows between the two.
Meanwhile, Arthur is regretting banishing Merlin and is lost without his best friend or a way to make things right again. That's until a young girl rides into Camelot, bruised, broken and desperately seeking help for her village and Dad.
Maybe Arthur has a chance to apologise and regain a man who is like a brother to him...

I got the inspiration for this story from a similar oneshot on Fanfiction.net by Aeon The Dimensional Girl if the user wishes for me to take this one down I will, however I will point out that I expanded on the concept and definitely made it my own.
