In a matter of days, half of the world's population was either dead or turned. The government collapsed, TV and radio stations shut down, and everyone was left to fend for themselves. Kelley lost everything in the beginning. Her family, her house, even her small hometown in the state of Georgia. So she decided to leash up her dog, a Belgian Malinois named Bud, gather some supplies, and head towards Atlanta. She encounters a small group along the way. Survivors just like her, with stories and losses of their own. She soon becomes close to them, feeling like she has found another family, and she will do anything to protect them. This is a story of lost, love, survival, and surprises. The world doesn't care that you are alone, doesn't care if you're hungry, and doesn't care that death lurks around every corner. The undead feed on the living and the living can't be trusted. As the days pass and the world she knew was gone, she keeps a record of everything that has happened since first night. In a world overrun by the dead, survival isn't just about skill-it's about trust. Amara Hangings and her best friend, Henry have relied on each other to make it this far. Whenever they are captured by a group, they cross paths with a stuck-up, crossbow prick named Daryl Dixon. Henry sees danger in Daryl. Amara sees something else. As they fight through this new world, an uneasy trust begins to form. But in a world where attachments are a risk, letting someone in could be the most dangerous choice of all. He's rugged, muscular, tall, attractive, know how to survive. Only problem is he seems to hate her. He avoids her at all cost and when they do come in contact he's harsh with her.
