Constantine just so happened to be there when the bandits struck, and now he finds himself bickering with Alys who has wits that match his own. As the two travel together (with Alys somewhat reluctantly), they begin to suspect each other of the secrets they hide.

But when they are swept up by a plot against the Kingdom of Dongard, will they be able to discover who the other really is? Or will the plot commence and take them down with it?
