When a man steals a selkie woman's pelt, she is trapped on land with him in human form, separated from the sea and her selkie family. She fights him at first. But, as the years pass, the lack of her pelt and the loneliness slowly drain the life out of her. And she soon starts getting desperate, drowning in despair and willing to do anything to escape... Will she find her pelt and get back to the sea and her family? Will she give in to her kidnapper and make a life on land? Or will she perish, imprisoned forever by her captor? And how far will she go to regain her freedom? Trigger Warnings: Mentions of drowning, kidnapping, unwanted children, abandonment, and depressive and suicidal thoughts.
