When 8 year old Alice Chapman has to move from her hometown of Jacksonville, Florida to Charleston, South Carolina, she doesn't know what to expect. Although her parents were born and raised in Charleston, they moved to Florida when Alice's mother, Amy, had a complication. She was supposed to have twins, but unfortunately, one of the two twins didn't make it. Alice doesn't know yet that she is a twin. While Alice is an only child, as far as she knows, times will get lonely for her sometimes. What she doesn't know is her new home and her parents are hiding an unsettling secret.
