On a Friday night, August of 1923, Adelaide Williams finds her parents dead, brutally mudered with no trace of the killer. Only half a year later, the police force found who they presumed to be the killer, and sentenced him to death by electric chair. A month later, further investigation confirmed that he was not, in fact, the killer. But it was too late. Now, a year later, Adelaide at age ten, the killer is still unknown and Adelaide is trapped in a mental asylum and is plagued by nightmares and paranoia. One day, she hears a few of the other patients talking about how to summon a ghost named Nice Fred who enters the world of the living though closets.
