The war has passed, Rowan and Aelin have married, ruling Terrasen together over several peaceful years- and in Terrasen it's still peaceful, but their daughter Ilias has been having nightmares for years- images of scarred hands and shadows. On the night of her and her mother's shared birthday their family finds themselves somewhere else- somewhere new.
