In a universe where you're born with the tattoo of your spirit animal, kids attend schools to learn how they can control and resist the instincts of their animal flooding through them, because not only are they tattooed with the animal, but they can turn into it also.
Having your animal colored is rare. Having a snake is rare, but the rarest snake? The Titanoboa. Nyoka is a blue colored Titanoboa snake, she's distant because she's been used for her rare circumstance. Amp, a purple colored Cobra, transfers with a dark past but a bright smile. As the only other snake in the school he gets directed to Nyoka.
