Greasy Grass was always in between 2 worlds and was vary withdrawn from the social life of her village (after all they aren't really her tribe and nobody knew who was),so it was basically a shock to everyone when she is chosen by the lead bull of the bison herd to be her's and she is given access to the highest part of spiritual and daily life in her adopted tribe by becoming a buffalo rider,and as she comes to accept the level of religious authority and prestige that is heaped upon her,she finally finds one thing that alluded her for so long, companionship and self esteem.
