Ashen Snow

Nearly twenty years after a catastrophic event that left the Earth in the control of a Totalitarian, inter-dimensional Empire, Diana is among the last generation of children born before their new overlords left humanity unable to reproduce.

Living in the dilapidated City 17, Diana's life is wrought with hard work, poor living conditions, and meager rations. Every day could very well be her last. But with subservience comes reward. Torn between her desire to avenge the death of her family and her need to survive, just how much of her humanity will she sacrifice to her callous overlords to ensure her own survival?

This story is set in the Half-Life universe, predominantly using the setting of the Half-Life 2 Beta, mixed with some aspects of the finished Half-Life 2.
