Being The Odd One Out

~Hey there. I, Adelyn Jennifer McHugh have seen far from the normal childhoods children experience. My late daddy, who was a much sought after criminal, and my late mum - who tried making ends meet by her meagre earnings as a bartender - left nothing much more than two disturbed little souls ,who had just entered the world, for me. No money, no shelter, no legit guardian, no nothing. I wasn't ready yet, to face the norms of this cruel world, the struggles of being a poor orphan, the adversities of raising a baby brother and sister whilst being deprived of resources. I had to go through harsh times surrounded by hate, criticism, insults. I felt devalued, unloved, uncared for. But couId I just give up? I had to survive my time in this world, and make my life worth living. Armed with a tiny yet impactful thought of " Warriors never give up ", I approached life with positivity, with a smile on my face. Little did I know that destiny had already planned a fortune for me and my siblings, but climbing the stairs to the ultimatum was indeed tough as well as painful for me and my heart.
Eventually, bit by bit, I understand that yeah, at some points life does get difficult, being happy becomes a tough challenge, smiling gets tough - you don't always get what you want, you don't always get understood, you aren't always loved, cared for, and valued by someone. But if you believe in yourself, in God, in your true potential- you might as well brave winter and greet spring with a huge smile on your face.
