"How are you, Hope?" The voice which these words danced on was soft and misty, in a way that almost sounded wet. There was nothing that her eyes could fix on due to an overwhelming amount of black that wrapped around her in a snug blanket.
"Who are you?" Hope croaked out with as much confidence as she could muster. The blackness was beginning to suffocate her and steal her courage bit by bit.

Marriage first, then love
He did not love her. It was a loveless marriage to him. In his eyes, she is just a burden who cooks food for him. And in return, he will earn money and place it in her bank account.
