This is a fairytale retelling of The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen. It is also influenced by The Snow Queen film. I do not own any rights pertaining to the film or book. 

Aspen has seen better days. Tending to a garden and helpless animals isn't the most praising job. Ever since early childhood, Aspen has been laughed at for caring for a rabbit, much less a plant! How justice would be nice. When she is given winter  powers by Naesh the sorcerer, Aspen begins plotting her revenge. 

Lona's parents died years ago. The only person she has is her brother, Kaden. But when Kaden doesn't return from mirror making school for two months past time, Lona tasks herself with the responsibility to find him. First stop: Lenoth. Where the arts are supreme and Kaden's mirror master works. But when she arrives, Lenoth is abandoned. Color has been stolen. The population is gone.

The Snow Queen's reign has begun.
