Lush forests have become deserts in a matter of months after the planet experienced an increase in temperature which caused extreme droughts. With the melting of ice, the sea grew and swallowed islands and coastal cities. Humanity had been just barely hanging on when a huge solar storm hit the planet and everything went dark. Without technology, and the end of the world seeming near, society fell into chaos.
It has now been two years since the worldwide blackout and so far there are no signs of recovering. Survivors constantly battle for survival against mother nature and themselves. Society had completely crumbled away and there were no rules, except for one; don't be weak. The grim reaper himself enforced this rule and the punishment was death. One of these survivors is Cassius, a disabled young man, who refuses to die. He is constantly on the move, trusts no one, and seems to only care about himself. One day, this all changes for good.

Conquer the Wasteland
*Prologue* To be entirely honest with you, I never really considered my future. It's not like I needed to...right? Floating amongst a far off solar system, a coreless planet lays drifting. Its surface frozen over with nothing internally to heat through its mantles, making life ordinarily impossible to survive on. The planets previous inhabitants have been left to mere bones and dust from the destruction of the planets core, with their creations left to wander the remains and pick up the pieces of the now humanless world. But one day the fabric of the universe warped and pinched, and the planet saw its only piece of organic life in years, hair unnaturally whitened and an eye blacked out, donning clothing unfit for the harsh conditions. But luck had it that this person stumbled across the robotic creations that the dead humans left behind, giving him shelter from the piercing cold of the outside. But not all was fine, food is scarce, and searching for food becomes a necessity to provide for this misfit among those who do not need sustenance. Bearing the cold will likely be inevitable, and after his necessities are met, perhaps this spontaneous visitor could assist those providing him shelter, there isn't much left to do on this planet, after all.
A Country Life
Three hundred years after the fall, the known world is beginning to regain a semblance of order, with the sword the ultimate power once more. But not everything of old was lost, and there are some that will exert deadly effort to obtain what was left behind. Orphaned, plague-marked and mistrusted by the community he lives in, a boy must come to terms with the fact that he is different from everyone else, but is soon the focus of unwelcome and deadly attention. Separated from her father, a young girl has to learn to survive in a foreign land haunted by tribes of ghosts and roving bands of piratical thralls to a sadistic King. A watcher keeps lonely vigil from within a fortress that has been under siege for hundreds of years, while a soldier dies for the twenty-third time, and dies again while wondering if he is going mad. First started in 2015, this story is at 50k+ words, but was removed when a plotting hiccup was encountered. I now intend to split it into three parts, and this is the complete Part 1. Isolation
For centuries, the human race has been at the mercy of deep space. While on Earth, scientists discovered the Ice Age would be occurring much sooner than predicted. They built Arks and jettisoned specified colonies on a direct course for Pluto to escape their frozen fates. Then, the Drax arrived. All of the colonies were destroyed except for one: Canis, the leader of the evacuation. Canis's designated animal was the wolf. We escaped Earth and made it to Pluto, colonized it, made it our new home. They found us again. Only a few survivors live on. My father, the captain and leader, was killed in the attack. My friends survived with me, and we all agree there is only one place we can run. We have to go back. We must return to our home. My name is Mark O'Connor, and I am the last surviving leader of the human race. There is no one else left in command. There's no one to tell me what to do anymore. There are no more others.
