A poem about people's tendency to dehumanise tyrants in order to disassociate themselves from them. Nobody wants to admit that these were regular people, because that would mean any regular person is capable of such atrocities, and that scares us. We are unwilling to see ourselves as the monster. I think that the knowledge that we are actually capable of such hatred as people like Hitler, in one way or another would destroy us.
