I try not to stare most of the time, but for some reason, tonight, I just couldn't look away. I've seen many pretty girls before in so many different places; Including the light rail, but for some reason tonight, she was just so much lovelier than any other girl I've ever seen. Why am I even getting worked up over her anyways? It's not like I'll ever see her again. Well, that's a perfect excuse to keep looking! I'll never see her again, so why does it matter if I continue to look. Well then, that settles it. I'll continue to look... He was right. Normally, when I see a cute girl, I'm like eh, but because she's just so pretty, and also because I don't have much time left, I might as well. "I mean, come on dude, You might as well." What a perfect sign. I just said it, and now he just said it. Definitely means I gotta do it. I wanted to text him back to let him know I was going to. Four years ago, a 13-year-old blackmailed me into friendship by holding my doughnut captive. We've been close ever since. I soon noticed that I wanted to be more than just friends. I was in love with my best friend. But sadly, he didn't feel the same way. I thought my world was over. I was crushed. But to my utmost yet most delighted surprise, I just happened to fall into the arms of a certain bad boy. Literally. He didn't just save me from what could've been a hell of a concussion that night. Have you ever felt so broken that you couldn't pull yourself out of bed and continue to live your life like you used to. A simple task such as tying your shoes already seems like a huge burden on your account. Struggling with yourself because everything around you doesn't matter anymore. That's mainly because she broke my heart. Who knew love could turn a person around. Who knew love would hurt this bad. Who knew love can make you feel numb. A simple word yet it has an enormous impact in everyone's life. Everything happens for a reason, and I'm not blaming it all on her, though there are things you just wish you could take back and redo because of the feeling it gave you. And because of those traumatic event, I turned into a complete opposite of me. Well, that's until I met...her. You'd think that I've learned my lesson but she's different. I'm that cold-hearted until she drop down here on earth and save my miserable, sorry ass. A girl who doesn't know how to give up. A girl who's filled with happiness in a way that if you stare at her, there's this feeling you can't explain and it just lightens your mood. A girl who's friends with everyone because of her pure and innocent soul. A girl that can certainly light up a god d*mn world with her personality. ... And a girl who made me feel again. A girl who made me fall in love again. A girl who made me forget all the things that I've been through because she made my present more than just worth living, and my future to be worth looking forward to. *Completed* T.W. This short story is based around the loss of a friend, and coping with that loss with therapy. ~~~ I placed the letter back down onto the small coffee table, wiping away the tears that rested in the corner of my eyes. "How do you feel, Samuel?" the doctor asked, hovering her pen over a piece of paper. "I feel the same way I did the last time you made me read that letter" I responded back, a slight bitterness in my voice. "And how did you feel?" "Lost. Lonely. Hurt. Betrayed." I listed, watching as she wrote it all down, listening as the pen scratched against the paper roughly. "Anything else?" She pressed on, staring down on me like an ant. "I lost my best friend. How do you think I fucking feel?" The tone of my voice made her flinch slightly, but she quickly regained her professionalism. "Samuel, I need you to calm down. Shouting at me isn't going to do you any good". She pushed her glasses further up her face as she scribbled more onto the page. "Shouting?" I scoffed, "I wasn't shouting, and I have the right to be angry at someone who's forcing me to re-read my dead best friends suicide note everytime I'm forced to see them". ~~~ [started 26/03/2021]Complete

I began this story in the summer of 2013; I don't remember what my inspiration for this story was, but I can remember shopping around ideas with friends of mine and then I thought of this, and they all thought it was a dark, and very sad idea.
