I'd never shed a tear since my father passed and never in a million years did I think I'd do it over a man, a man who'd managed to capture my heart in a split moment of seeing him. I didn't want anything else but to be with this man, to stare into his emerald eyes every day of my life, finding comfort and safety in his arms. A lone tear escaped out of my eye and he immediately swiped it away with his thumb.
I noticed as his eyebrows drew together in worry but before he could speak, I twisted and threw myself against him, wrapping my arms tightly around his neck and hugging him like my life depended on it.
Well, in a way it did.
