2085: Midnight City

Midnight City, a sprawling metropolis governed by Midnight Authority, a city government with a corrupt security administration that turns a blind eye to many high-ranking officials and business CEOs that conduct illegal activities, as a result of bribing. While many citizens despise the Midnight City Police Force, they do not openly speak against them, as to avoid police brutality and discrimination for "citizen insubordination".

Although Midnight City's security administration tolerates illegal executive activity, they however do not tolerate the activities of various criminal organizations, such as the Nakamura Crime Family, with whom they had been battling against since 2025. In the background of it all, criminals often compete with each other for power; freelancers take jobs to earn cash while assassins attempt to make a name for themselves.

However, one Sunday night in the city's central district, the Forsaken criminal gang puts together a crew to ambush a squad of Android Units, as there was a highly valued Unit among them; a newly introduced Class X "Aggressor" model built by Tachibana Android Engineering.
