Imagine getting a scholarship one day out of nowhere to go to one of the most prestigious schools in the northern hemisphere. But everything comes with a price, that payment would be for 16 year old Addison King to enroll in Conrail Academy and be the school's board's personal lab rat. 

Receiving the first scholarship ever to a private high school meant for the rich would only cause Addison trouble, but with a hefty bargaining fee and a poor family, she couldn't say no.
