Earth is so different compared to home. The plants, the animals, the languages. The people are probably my favorite part of it all. They look at us as though we are their gods, we aren't though. The people are so different though they are all the same species. From all over their world they are so different. Some are tall, some short, some with colorful hair, others with brown or blonde. Their art is so strange too and diverse. There is so many kinds of art. The way their sun shines, and casts a vibrant color show when the day turns to an end is something so pure and beautiful. This planet has so much to offer and much for us to learn though it servers a less place for vacation or science expedition. At home this planet is known to us as our breeding ground, you see my species can't procreate without humans. No one knows why for sure, the elders say it has something to do with their blood. Though no one has really tired to experiment much with it to try and create one of us in a tube. It's against our laws, our values. Life isn't to be made in a test tube. We aren't cruel when using humans to create life. We don't steal babies from their cradles at night, our men don't rape random women on the streets, we are gentle, we ask consent, we are patient. Once every year ten families are chosen to give us children to start our new generations. It's called the picking. The humans of Earth are very excited for the picking. They welcome us with open arms. The week of the picking is a long one filled with celebrations, gifts, trades, and of course the ceremony to produce the children. This year is my families turn to produce a child of the generation.

Our Reluctant Caretaker by Kay_Gilbert
1 part Complete
"We don't have a Caretaker. We have a Creationeer. And we love her." ~Humanity. We think we're from here, but are we really? What happened to us before then, and who was involved? Kit - a young B-Tier Creationeer - didn't want this job. She's not trained to be an Intelligent Species Caretaker, and yet she's forced to care for the last remnants of a damaged and traumatized humanity by an old, malicious evil. After carrying us around in a modified to-go habitat bubble for 18K years, Kit wants a vacation, but is hesitant to leave us alone on our new planet she built; Earth. She confides in Pan - an A-Tier Caretaker and Kit's best friend and roommate. She reveals the full story of how she came to be in possession of us and why she can't hand us over to a licensed Caretaker. Pan reveals the tragic truth of the first 10 years of our existence before Kit found us. The new knowledge Ignites a fire in both. So the two young Ethereals come up with another plan that involves the three grad school roommates, Pan, Sid, and Kit, taking us on a long road trip to the Andromeda galaxy for some good old fashioned revenge- justice. And also Screw Jim. (warning: Contains strong language.) Please comment and vote. :) I'd really appreciate it. ^_^ (This idea was born from the second I saw a photo of Earth from orbit showing the glow of our atmosphere and thought, "Haha! We live on a bubble planet." :) ) NOTE: They're not gods. This is not theology. They don't have all the answers, they're not all powerful, and they can't do everything. They're closest equivalent in a fandom would be like lesser cousins to the Q. In this AU, Humanity knows about Kit. They don't deify her. To them, Kit's presence is normal, tangible, and real. She's always been there.

Its been two thousand years since humanity lost their home planet and a thousand since they first made landfall on the world they now call home. The trip was long and fraught with danger but they managed to survive in no small part to the new gods they found along the way. The Celestial Court granted life to various forms of variant human species, sculpted to perfection as the next evolution for mankind. After a thousand years however humanity finds itself on the edge of collapse, as technology from the old world breaks down more and more the people of the new world are regressing into a more feudal state of living. As technology declines and degrades, magic and the supernatural has become the norm. Conflicts are on the rise between the different factions of the Celestial Empire all while the gods themselves watch from above silently. In one small corner of the Empire rests the Black Coast, home to the mysterious and ostracized race known as the Twins. It is in this quiet place that a set of triplets will determine the fate of not just the Empire, but the world as a whole for decades to come. --- This is a book I've been working on for a few years when I have the time. My experience in posting online is not great, so please be mindful that there may be tweaks to format and the like. ❖2021 Watty Awards Shortlist❖ Kevin was just a normal 10 year old kid until he saw a woman vanish right before his eyes. This made Kevin just a little bit different. He paid more attention to people now. Little did he know that this little difference would kill him the next time he encountered another alien about to return home. It would tear him apart, cell by cell, until he was unmade. His mind being transported away. --- So distantly far away there is a race that advanced to the point where they built dyson spheres to house their civilizations. In their continual expansion, they seeded galaxies with pods and connection satellites. Over time they upgraded their dyson spheres into matryoshka brain Cores. Imagine a computer powered by a star. Citizens of Cores no longer age once they upload their minds into the virtual living system of the Core. While they didn't age, most still choose to cycle through life and death though at a different scale of time compared to our lives. Citizens can visit other planets and live there as if they were on a "vacation". Mercury is Earth's hub connected to the closest Core and Earth is a remote vacation spot for wealthy citizens. When the main character was 10 he witnessed a citizen returning to the Core. The story continues 10 odd years later when he again witnesses a similar situation unfolding and manages to touch the person returning to the Core. This causes him to be swept up in the transfer as well and for his mind to join as a "Guest" user of the Core. As a Guest he has limited powers, a starting balance of zero cr or Citizen credits, and no idea how he can get home. He is the first human to ever become a Guest of a Core. Where money itself is the highest form of their science.

Rose knew she isn't normal. And neither was her family. Like which family force their daughter to live alone and change her house every single fucking year, definitely not a normal one. She wanted to find answers to all the hidden secrets kept by her family and she got the chance when one day, during her 'annual ritual' of shifting houses, a group of zombies attacked her........ and she met him. ------------------------------------ ------------------------------------ "Creature?" "Well, it implies to all kinds collectively. Both of bright land and dark land. The world is roughly segregated into three categories. First where humans reside alongside hunters, second Bright land, where all the mermaids, fairies, Pegasus, etc. creatures of the day live and on the contrary, third, the dark land where creatures of the night like vampires, werewolves, zombies, dragons, etc. live." ------------------------------------But what she didn't know was she has inherited the curse which had destroyed her mother's life before and is about to do the same with her. ------------------------------------ "So I am not a human? I am half dark and half bright land's creature?" "And that's what makes you human. How do you think the first human was born? Humans are hybrids of creatures of dark and light. But the firstborn humans had superpowers. Power no one can control. But with evolution, most humans lost their powers. Some are still left, those are known as hunters, but their powers are nowhere as strong as the firstborns." "So if Damon found out that I am a half-half hybrid, he will kill me?" "Without a doubt." First I couldn't be with my mate because he is a vampire prince and I belongs to a family of werewolves and now this. Fuck my life....... ------------------------------------
