It's a habit for me to say "sad tragedy" to anyone including myself when something as bad and as minor as dropping a pen. Although it's an exaggeration and also to lighten the mood, the phrase backfired ultimately and now my life is a sad tragedy.

Add in a normal, sarcastic apparently "different" high school girl and "the" hot, popular douchebag of a high school player, and voila : there you go! A cliched high school story.

Everyone knows the stories of the hot popular guy in school who falls in love with the shy girl who is later learnt to be a diamond in the rough.
