En 2010, le général James Arthur Foyle du haut de ses 90 ans passent des jours paisibles entre son domaine ducal et les casernes qu'il visite très souvent. Un jour, alors qu'il devait simplement accueillir son petit-fils dans son château, il apprend que celui-ci travaille sur la Seconde Guerre mondiale. L'adolescent a besoin d'aide concernant cette part importante de l'Histoire. Et, c'est avec joie que notre grand-père répondra aux questions de son petit-fils. Alors grâce à des flashbacks, il se remémorera cette époque primordiale de sa vie. 
Ainsi, dans un monde encore en guerre, frappé par le désastre, la tyrannie, la misère, l'injustice et l'incompréhension, un jeune officier supérieur, James Arthur Foyle fraîchement promu au grade de major-général va voir sa vie bouleversée lorsqu'il va devoir prendre le commandement d'une ville, puis d'une région militaire. Des milliers d'hommes sous ses ordres et des décisions capitales à prendre. 1945, les combats ont cessé, la guerre est finie mais la lutte ne fait que commencer ; la lutte contre le nazisme et ces idéologies abjectes. James va devoir se surpasser et continuer le combat pour lequel des millions d'hommes ont perdu la vie. L'Allemagne est tombée, mais les ombres du passé sont encore présentes et hantent la population tout comme l'occupant. 

J'ai voulu créer cette nouvelle pour relater ce qui se déroula après la Seconde Guerre mondiale en Allemagne. Souvent les écrits s'arrêtent à la Libération de la France, au Débarquement. Mais, hélas, le chaos a continué encore. Alors, je vous invite à découvrir les péripéties que ce jeune homme va devoir affronter qu'elles soient heureuses ou tristes.
