The flashes come back to me in waves, I remember the water drowning my lungs, I can almost taste the salt on my tongue. The screams of the people on the beach fill my ears, I can see my best friends sand covered face as she tells me to hang on. I can see the crimson blood on her hands. I remember panicking- thinking she had hurt herself- but then I realised it was not her blood, it was mine.

"Evangeline? I asked how you were coping recently?" My therapist says, a look of fake concern etched on her features.

"Huh? Yeah, I'm as good as I can be,"I answer with a sigh," and it's Evan, by the way."

Evangeline Cameron was one of the best under 18 female surfers the world had ever seen, she had endorsements and sponsors at her fingertips. She lived and breathed the ocean.
However, her last competition ended in tragedy for the young surfer.
She never went into the water again.

As soon as her 18th birthday had passed, she packed up her stuff and moved from sunny South Africa to the equally as sunny Australia.
With her best friends in tow, Evan believed this would be her new start.

All she wanted was to move on, to have a normal life - to spend her last few years as a teenager being a normal kid.

But her plans seem to change after she meets Finn, a cocky lifeguard who seems adamant on making her life anything but normal.
