Romance
It's been twelve years since Aamae Le Rosa's father overthrew the long-reigning Kagwaa family and began his rule over Alkreva. Under his rule, his word is law, and no one, not even his own children, are safe from his wrath. And until three years ago, no one dared to stand up to him. Three years ago sparked the beginning of a rebellion within Alkreva, and Princess Aamae was the first victim-having been betrayed by the one person she believed would keep her safe no matter what, and since then, the country's once-beloved princess has barely left the castle, now an empty shell of what she used to be. Barely speaking and finding comfort in books instead of people, Aamae lives her days within the castle in fear-fear of her father, fear of the outside, fear of everything. Then to make matters worse, her father announces her engagement to a man she has never met the day after her eighteenth birthday in a move that everyone knows was purely political. Lord Mekhi Evernot was everything a girl would dream of having-sweet, caring, patient. Aamae knew, in another life, she would have been ecstatic to marry such a man. But the Aamae now is broken, and with a rebellion threatening her position as the country's princess and unresolved demons from the event that started it all lingering in her mind, a wedding is the last thing she needs. But, as always, nothing is her choice. Step into the country of Alkreva, where war looms over the horizon and a princess wants nothing more than to go back in time. _______ The first book in the To Crowns and Dreams series, where the line between good and evil isn't quite clear and loyalty is a fickle thing. DISCLAIMER: This is a rough first draft that was never read through and most likely filled with spelling errors and plot holes. If you find anything, please point it out kindly. :)

In the infinite void, ten immortal Overlords reigned supreme with their divine children, the Eliet. Driven by a desire to create, they bent free-flowing strings of energy into a sphere, forming the visible realm and many worlds. The Overlords descended and birthed the first physical race, the immortal Aan, and as balance, the mortal race of men, whose lives were short. One exceptional Aan named Pheon crafted nine stones of immense power, each capturing the essence of time, life, death, wind, water, joy, space, light, and beasts. A stone to bind chaos eluded him, stirring envy in the Master of Chaos, who believed the Aan selfishly kept the stone for themselves. Proposing one king be chosen to rule, Master of Chaos sought the mantle but was rejected. Enraged, he rebelled, stealing the stones and fleeing to a twin world, reigning through terror. With his ability to corrupt, he seduced many divine children, including the Eliet lord Rhaè, who became the dreaded Araghel, the Faceless Terror. As the Aan established the Realm of the Sun, Master of Chaos sent Araghel to kill their king and queen, leaving only the daughter Umriyen alive, sparking a war between Aan, mortals, and the Master of Chaos. Forsaking her arts for the sword, Umriyen became a warrior intent on vengeance. The Overlords intervened, and in a cataclysmic battle, Master of Chaos was defeated and imprisoned, though the lands lay ruined. Free from his cruel master, Araghel sought to claim dominion over the Grand Lands, slowly regaining strength and armies in secret. By luck, Araghel discovered the tenth stone-the Stone of Chaos-really exists, offering powers beyond anything he'd ever known. But to obtain it, he needed to become close with his mortal enemy, Umriyen. Resuming a different identity, Araghel is on a mission to gain Umriyen's trust.
