    	Three years ago sparked the beginning of a rebellion within Alkreva, and Princess Aamae was the first victim-having been betrayed by the one person she believed would keep her safe no matter what, and since then, the country's once-beloved princess has barely left the castle, now an empty shell of what she used to be. Barely speaking and finding comfort in books instead of people, Aamae lives her days within the castle in fear-fear of her father, fear of the outside, fear of everything. Then to make matters worse, her father announces her engagement to a man she has never met the day after her eighteenth birthday in a move that everyone knows was purely political.
    	Lord Mekhi Evernot was everything a girl would dream of having-sweet, caring, patient. Aamae knew, in another life, she would have been ecstatic to marry such a man.
