I rose from my chair and hesitantly picked up a letter that sat on the boxes that made our makeshift desk. The words Ben was written on it.  

"What is it Sir?"

"Its a letter for you, Ben" I stated, handing the letter to him. His face immediately brightened when he saw who it was from. "It's from my wife!" He happily grinned, as he eagerly sat himself down, and impatiently teared the envelope open. i sat opposite him pleased for him; when surprisingly he yelled, ripping the letter viciously and throwing it to the floor; the ragged pieces scatterred on the concrete. He stared at us for a long moment, dazed. Silent. Myself, Edward and Jim were speechless. What could've happened? 

 

"My son! My son!" He mumbled. "He's dead…Gone. Andrew is gone!" He mourned. His eyes were full of sorrow as he stood, leaning brokenly against the wall. i pitted him as he bawled his eyes out in a dark corner.
