Icarus Owens is a 14 year old trans boy with a hateful mother. being sent off to boarding school and unable to transition due to the circumstances, he believes the world is against him. but maybe, with the gem he finds in the forest, things will start to look up for him.
a new villain has come to Centopia, disguising herself as a unicorn guard. her identity is unknown, but it's clear she's after the winged unicorn, Onchao. but when Icarus comes to Centopia, with his feathered wings, she changes her priorities and goes after him. Prince Mo receives a prophecy while he's sleeping.
"red on silver, ring on hand, there will be one who will help the land."

You may still like this even if you don't like fantasy. It's more like a normalization of angelic humans. There's plenty of gay adorableness and cuddles. Based in a world in which everyone is an angel and must earn an ability not inherited through family. It seems random but it's not in the slightest. Each matches ones personality. How bad could it be to enlist your female best friend into helping you lie to your Christian family about your new relationship with your male best friend and about your newfound sexuality? Not that bad, right? Right??? --------- Nova Queen and Arizona "Ari" Matthews weren't always close in high school, but after an intense and serious conversation in the library one day, the two become the best of friends until they go their separate ways their freshman year of college. Now in their mid 20s and freshly out of grad school, they are reunited in the park of their hometown where Ari asks a huge favor of Nova that she later wishes she had refused.
