War has been raging for years between the magic-less Wynherst and its magic-wielding neighbor Glastonbex. In the muddy Wynherst trenches, Idelle risks her life against the Glastonbex fire mages in order to save the life of the young and handsome Lord Torran. For her bravery, she is rewarded with the position of Captain of the Queen's Guard-- a job that keeps her close to him.

In her new life at the castle, she is tasked with keeping Torran's cousin, Queen Aelga, safe after the mysterious and untimely death of her brother the king. Suspicions are cast on the queen of Glastonbex, Yseult, especially when she conveniently offers a sham of a peace treaty to the new and inexperienced Aelga just days after the king's death. With Queen Yseult's troops pressing in closer and closer to the castle, Idelle and Torran are running out of time to try and discover the truth of the king's death and what Yseult is planning with her fake peace treaty.

54 parts Complete

"I'm going to fight the Order, not cower from them." She sounded steadfast, like abandoning her resolve would bring her closer to death than Faltis had: like a Queen. "Stay away if you like, but I'm doing this, and if you want to stop me, you'll have to lock me away." *** An ancient power threatens to awaken and reclaim the Lands. A princess, a warrior, a sorcerer, and a traitor find their lives linked by the fragments of a centuries old prophecy. With time running out and enemies appearing at every turn, will the world as they know it collapse beneath their feet?
