Simple Luck

Abby Covington has had a rough year. Her mom died of cancer, she moved half way across the country, and she lost the one person who truly loved her. Of course the last two were her doing, but that didn't make it any easier. Looking back, Abby knows that leaving the little town of Roodhouse without so much as a goodbye had been a mistake. It was too late though.Too late undo what she had done. Too late to get back the boy she had loved and lost... Or was it?

Dexter Ashby walks back into her life and her heart, and Abby doesn't know what to think. How had he found her, why was he here? Could he forgive her for her horrid mistake? Most importantly, could she forgive herself?

This is a short story about love, forgiveness, and letting go of our past.
