Two friends, Marius (born in 1810) and Odette (born in 1813), grew up in the life of the luxury. Their wealth never clouded their judgement, and neither did their poverty when the money was stripped away from them. More like they were stripped away from the money. Odette's mother died when she was fairly young, and after her father remarried, he was shortly reported missing after heading off to battle. A cruel step-mother cut Odette out of the life her parents wanted her to grow up in, and she was forced to work in the streets from age thirteen in 1826 till 1829 when she was reunited with her best friend. And now she works to keep herself and her new found family going, whilst fighting. Fighting hard for a better shot at survival. But what if someone is one her mind? A girl who always welcomes the guests with a warm smile never thinks twice before helping Madame Hucheloup and brings snacks for the always hungry boys, hidden in the back room. To them, she's only a girl who works at the Café, a girl who is always there to linger around and listen to their meetings, criticize their opinions and to make sure they go home before three in the morning. Enjolras has always been annoyed by her presence, but never denied her entrance to the back room, partially because feared angering the boys and Madame Hucheloup who all seemed to adore this simple girl, but also because he always found himself unable to utter a reasonable sounding world in a conversation with her.
