A recent failed assassination attempt forces Camden Hopkins, the son of a wealthy political leader and a highly regarded inventor, to rethink his past choices regarding his own protection. His mother's idea of a bodyguard results in a young woman named November who has daring eyes, killer reflexes, and a brilliant sob story, to suddenly enter his life. Narrowly escaping a second attempt only brings them closer (as most life threatening situations tend to do), but now November has to prepare for a fear of her own becoming a possible reality — by teaching Camden how to protect himself in case she in somehow not able to. Although both can defend themselves against each other in battle, can they protect themselves from their growing feelings as well?

The daughter of two powerful Washington D.C. politicians is struggling with adjusting to her life back home after her parents pleaded her to move back home after she graduated college. She has always had bodyguards growing up, but the new one her parents hired when she moved back home is different. He is way more involved and does not stand back like the others would. She has been home for a year now and still has not adjusted to life with the man who is supposed to be protecting her. König, the former Insertion Specialist for a special task force of the military, ended up with job just by chance. Though only in his mid 30s, after a particularly brutal mission leaving him injured, he decided that he would retire. He never thought retirement would mean babysitting a spoiled brat who thinks it is ok to have a rebellious streak. The tension between the two is burning hot, but it seems there may be more than disdain that adds to their tension. König knows he needs to stay away from the young 20 something year old and focus on his professional responsibilities, but his restraint is running thin as she continues to cross the line.
