Mammoth starships venture out to the fringes of the system, into the 'dark', pursuing riches, resources, and the next human frontier. One of these starships, the United Hauler Vessel 'Esau', has come across a remote world, hidden for aeons at the very tip of inter-stellar space. The find of a lifetime, the crew waste no time in ensuring their discovery can be dragged back into the centre of humanity for riches and fame. But not is all as it seems. This far from home, all alone in the void, this new world, Amarok, will trap the good crew of the U.H.C Esau into a fight for their lives, unleash the very meaning of evil, and discover secrets that have outlived the Universe itself. Amarok - a giant wolf from ancient Inuit mythology. It is said to hunt down and devour anyone foolish enough to hunt alone at night.

Earth is silent and the colonies of the solar system slowly dwindle. Everyday life depends on technology that we no longer understand. The future is grim. Freelancer for hire Matthew Cole struggles to pay the bills and keep his ship in the air. He's always been a loner, but as the years go on and the solar system grows ever more dangerous, the time has come that he'll have to either find a crew or perish. When the specter of Matthew's past comes back to haunt him, his new crew will have to come together around their captain. They'll find that he is a rare kind of man, a man with principles. And that might be just what humanity needs.
